Available for the first time… again.

In September 2020, Monster Zero released First Wave- an ambitious, if not slightly overthought-out debut with minimal promotion or following. It was an idea that had gestated for years, and to keep costs down, it was released as a burn-on-demand CDR for whomever had come across it and wanted to add it to their collection.

It was not a good decision.

Now, a mere 9 months later- after much deliberation, more overthinking, and a series of well-received releases through Bandcamp (not to mention a notable amount of peer pressure from artists/friends)- First Wave is born again, being re-released on cassette for the first time. Remastered and dubbed onto original stock Certron C60s, every copy comes hand-numbered, with exclusive bonus artwork, and ready to ship almost immediately.

As artists, our natural desire is to constantly move forward, but as archivists, wanting to remember where we’ve come from is always at the back of our brains… floating around, haunting us like the ghosts of the past, waiting for us to see them again, and bring them back into the light.
